The Story of Tsukino Usagi and Chiba Mamoru begins many years ago during the Silver Millenium. At this point Queen Serenity ruled the Silver Millenium which consisted of the entire solar system. Princess Serenity (Usagi) lived on the Moon with her mother and Prince Endymion (Mamoru) lived on the Earth as reigning prince. It wasn't long before they fell in love.
Their love prospered and grew into an immense happiness. But it was all ruined when Queen Beryl came to the Silver Millenium. When she saw Endymion, she fell in love with him. She wanted him but he would not go to her because of his love for Serenity and because she was evil.
This angered Beryl and so she fought against the Moon Kingdom in jealousy. She killed all the princesses of the solar system (sailor senshi) as well as Serenity and Endymion.
At this point, Queen Serenity knew there was no way she could possibly save her precious kingdom. And so she went to desperate measures. Using the Silver Imperium Crystal, Queen Serenity killed Beryl's fighters, trapped the seven shadow warriors in the crystal, banished Beryl, and sent her subjects to the future to protect Earth from evil when it once again returned. Unfortunately, these actions brought upon the Queen's death and Serenity and Mamoru became seperated.
